Technology is generally defined as the practical use of knowledge to make a product or perform a task. In this century, human life is completely dependent on technology. Technology is considered as the most important base for achieving wealth and social welfare. Therefore, moving towards a knowledge-based and sustainable economy is not possible without the development of technology. In this regard universities are the most important source of technology production as well as educating and training specialized forces in industry with the aim of achieving a knowledge-based economy. Therefore, the Research and Technology deputy of the department of Textile Engineering is trying to serve the professors, students and nationwide textile industry for achieving this goal. Therefore, the following points constitute, the most important goals of this deputy:
- Assisting the development of goals and research policies of the faculty
- Liaising between faculty members and the deputy of research members and technology of the university
- Managing and monitoring the activities of workshops and laboratories as well as creating a suitable platform for the optimal use of all the faculty research facilities by the staff and students.
- Endeavoring to equip the research centers of the department as well as enhancing space and facilities.
- Organizing an expert group for advising students to find suitable internship.
- Providing research services to various textile related organizations in order to meet their needs throughout the country as well as helping them to cooperate with the faculty and industrial centers
- Facilitating the identification of research potentials and technological opportunities in the textile industry and trying to draw their attention to cooperating with the department.
- Providing help to staff with the aim of expanding their activities in the industry, including the creation of start-up and knowledge-based companies, industrial contracts, technology transfer, patenting and consulting projects quantitative by and qualitative by.
- Persuading and facilitating the liaison between staff of department of textile engineering and the deputy of research of the university.
